League Rules

LEAGUE RULES

All bowlers in this league will abide by the printed rule book if not covered in these league rules. The league will be sanctioned. All bowlers rolling over averages from the prior season will pay lineage and prize fund even if they do not attend first league dates.

SANCTION FEE

Must be paid within 30 days of league start date. Failure to do so will require forfeiture of prior league game scores and ineligibility to bowl for the rest of the season.

COLLECTION OF LEAGUE FEES FROM BOWLERS

Payment will be taken at your table. Debit or credit card only will be accepted. You may pay for advanced weeks. If you know you will be gone for the following week, you are welcome to pay in advance. The Concourse will hold league fees.

FEE SHORTAGES

In this league, bowlers or teams dropping out of the league will be assumed by the league, and the prize fund will be charged unless bowlers are replaced. Individual dropping out will receive their portion of the prize fund. Per USBC rules.  A team, however, may assume the spot if it cannot be filled by paying the prize fund ($12) weekly. Any team or individual dropping out of the league must have a two-week PAID notice in writing to the league secretary.

LEGAL LINEUP

By the start of league bowling at 6:20 p.m., the legal lineup shall consist of 3 regular bowlers present. If a team has a vacancy, a legal lineup will consist of 2 regular members. Substitutes do not count unless a sixth bowler is used. However, the 6th bowler may only bowl for that designated team for any given week. The odd lane is responsible for keeping score and turning in a recap to the front desk.

ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS

The team bowling against the missing team must beat the team average of minus 50 to win. This is the same rule for any forfeit situation.

NO PACERS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME

ABSENTEES

The absentee’s score during the season will be the regular bowler’s current average minus 10. The absent bowler’s average must consist of at least three games established in this league; otherwise, use the vacancy score. The average of subs may not be used for an absent score. No

absentee’s score shall be used for more than three consecutive weeks or at any time thereafter unless the bowler has returned and bowled three or more games with his team. A blind score for incomplete teams at any time will be a vacancy score of 175 and no handicap.

ROVING SUBS

Roving subs will be allowed. The regular bowler is responsible for league fees if a sub bowls. Subs may be either sex as long as one female is present. Averages for handicap based on a minimum of three games bowled in this league. A sixth bowler will be allowed toward the legal lineup. The sixth can only bowl for your team and not sub for another team.

POSTPONEMENTS

The team captain must notify a league officer at least 24 hours prior notice that your team cannot make it unless it’s an emergency. Your team will forfeit if you do not give 24 hours notice. The absent squad does not need to notify the other team that you are not bowling at the regularly scheduled time. But if you have the time and their contact information, it would be an excellent gesture to let them know you are not bowling.

Now, because the other team forfeits all four games, you do not automatically get four wins. Your team has to bowl within an average of 50 pins for each game. So if all five bowlers bowl nine pins under your average, you will win that game.

Bowling unopposed will be allowed. All games must be bowled WITHIN TWO WEEKS of the scheduled match up to midnight. All make-up games must be bowled 72 hours before a position round, regardless of the time rules stated above.

Pre-bowls and make-up game scores are allowed to be seen after the opposing team has completed all three games. No Individual make-ups. NO MAKE-UPS OR PRE-BOWLS ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY EVENING. Please schedule make-ups or pre-bowls with Peter at events@concoursebowling.com or call the Center at extension #368. No walk-ins are allowed.

POSITION ROUND

No new bowlers or roving subs on any position round. No make-ups or pre-bowls for the position round. All make-ups must be completed by Friday, March 8th, 2024, before 5 p.m.

AWARDS

First place will receive trophies. High scratch game (men and women), high scratch series (men and women), high handicap game (men and women), and high handicap series (men and women) will receive awards.

SWEEPS

Sweeps will be at South Point Hotel and Casino at noon on September 7, 2024.  All bowlers, whether planning to join sweeps or not, are responsible for this payment. No new bowlers for sweeps. No pre-bowls for sweeps. Everyone will receive a travel credit of $139. All regular bowlers and subs must have 21 games to qualify for sweeps in Vegas.

Can a sub or six-man bowl in sweeps?

Yes, you can have a substitute or a six-man bowl in sweeps if they have bowled 21 games in the current season.

The substitute must join the team prior to sweeps. The six men are already on the team, so they can replace a player who is not going to Vegas.
